The problem with adventure games with computers

Hello,

If there is one opening i've found for new developers in the computer game industry its adventure games. Most 'adventure' games i've seen on the computer involves a point and click method, or its a mix between adventure and first person shooter. Maybe I'm crazy, but it seems that there is not enough good adventure games like Legend of Zelda or Jak 2 on the computer. I think this is because the comuter developers don't have a standard controller that they know the player will have. The only thing the developer knows the player will have is a keyboard and mouse, henceforth the abundance of point and click games. Or maybe i'm just crazy and haven't been able to find any good adventure games, what do ya think?

Any help will be apprecited.
